 Testimonials

  Beware! Don't expect magical results🪄
Results largely depend on you and how ready / willing you are to evolve or share.
  I am only a catalyst.

The usual scenario faced independently from the issue people come to me with:

1

2

3

4

Session 3 usually happens about a month later, so people have time to confront their new knowledge to reality and see how they & others react. Depending on the issue, 3 to 5 sessions are usually enough to address the targeted issue and reach a sense of closure. The overall length varies from 2 months to 1 year, depending on the person's rhythm.

Between sessions 1 & 2, people can feel slightly disoriented because they see their reality with new eyes. This phase resembles the blur that happens when you stir up sand under water, it needs some time to settle and return to stability, but a slightly different one.

They do not expect much from it: "What is she going to tell me that I don't know already?"

By the end of the first session they leave surprised, with some deep questions and thoughts to reflect on. This is just the result of quickly shedding new light on familiar issues.

My Approach:  learn to unlearn

If someone still believes Earth is flat, how can they accept the concept of Northern and Southern hemispheres or time zones? None of these would exist if Earth was flat.

In like manner, if you believe something wrong about yourself, how can you evolve?

HOSPITALITY & ETHICS

I was raised with the Portuguese values of genuine care, respect, and integrity.
Making people feel welcome and safe is part of my nature.
For years in luxury hospitality, I made people feel welcome; today, I welcome their stories.

EXPLORING YOUR HIDDEN / LIMITING BELIEFS

Your belief system largely determines your actions.

The challenge is that some of the beliefs you developed about yourself were formed a long time ago and over a large period of time, so you may not fully realize the depth and extent
of their impact on you and your behavior today; neither consciously nor unconsciously.
Most people think that to break a habit you just need to change your behavior,
but if you ignore the underlying root belief causing that behavior, the change won't last long.

IT'S ALL CONNECTED

We tend to compartmentalize information and store it into rigid "mind boxes" -it makes it easier for our brains to process it and learn-; the issue is: everything in real life is connected and dynamic.
Over the years, we grow and evolve but certain associations established early in life
remain stuck; they do not keep up with our evolution, and hold us back.
During sessions, we revisit the mind boxes that contribute to your current blockage or dissonance; and I help you sort out what you consider useful from what is not.

SYSTEMIC APPROACH

Sometimes, counter-intuitive is the most efficient way.

FROM FIXED TO GROWTH MINDSET

I help you see and reach beyond your current limits.

I help you get rid of the layer of unnecessary self-created issues, to make you feel more at peace. You need to be ready to go through some troubled times during the process, which is the sign that you are on the right track to a more profound change.

"As a teenager, I wanted to become a psychiatrist. I have always been fascinated by the mind, and the complexity of interpersonal communication. After a year in medical school, I finally went on studying Intercultural Communication and International Trade, with experiences in the UK, Spain, the US, and China. Living 5 months in China definitely broadened my perspective, and allowed me to approach life in a more holistic and systemic way, in contrast to the highly fragmented and linear Western approach.

Life opportunities led me to luxury hospitality, a sector where my search for excellence, my gift for connecting with people, and my thirst for performance were met, but it was also the ideal setting for a perfectionist to overwork. So after 9 years of climbing the corporate ladder, moving to Greece, then Spain, taking part in the successful opening of 2 major properties in Spain, and joining the Iberian board of directors; I decided to fly solo and focus on what I know how to do best: quickly assess and unblock situations, and support people in their personal growth." - Nathalie

frequently asked questions

  • What does a coach do?
The term coach is controversial for the simple reason that anyone can claim to be one. I actually had to first overcome my own deep prejudices about that term before becoming one. In today's world, the type of coach that is internationally and unanimously accepted, respected and valued is: the sports coach. Just like a sports coach, a qualified coach can help you in other areas of life all the same. Here is the definition of Coaching from the International Coaching Federation: "At its heart, coaching is about exploration. It’s a process that stirs up creativity, fuels personal growth, and maximizes both professional and personal potential. Through powerful questioning and insightful dialogue, coaches support you in discovering your own solutions, whether for life decisions, career shifts, or business challenges. Coaching goes beyond surface-level improvements; it cultivates deep, lasting change." Source
  • Why did you become a coach?
It somehow feels like "coaching chose me". From a very young age I have been exposed to mental illness, so I very quickly understood that people create their own reality, and that they usually differ from one person to another. As a consequence, I have always been fascinated by the complexity/creativity of the mind and the intricacy of interpersonal relationships. Studying and practicing intercultural communication for 5 years was a key milestone on my path to coaching. Living in 7 different countries significantly enhanced my already strong analytical skills and enabled me to approach issues from multiple perspectives quickly and efficiently. My 5-month stay in China was particularly eye-opening; this is when I realized that my default thinking mode (360º/big picture) was closer to the holistic and circular approach of the Eastern mind than to the fragmented and linear reasoning of the West. Throughout my personal life and professional career, people have always come to me to feel heard, to challenge their thoughts and to get advice, no matter their age or level of responsibilities. During my time in the luxury hospitality industry, I was trained to highly perform, and deliver excellence in a systematic and consistent way. This contributed to my ability of very quickly and accurately identifying issues, and being particularly resourceful. When I decided to leave hospitality, I started an intensive training period, and went on a quest of better understanding the human mind. I followed courses at Harvard Extension School in psychology & neuroscience, completed an academic research on perfectionism and moral injury, and studied systemic coaching with an expert author and psychiatrist. After overcoming my own prejudices about the profession of coach, I decided to confront my skills, knowledge and experience to real life cases, and immediately got some impressive results, e.g., I helped some people overcome issues they had been struggling with for over 20 years. I took these results as the confirmation that I am following the right path.
  • What is the difference between a coach and a psychologist?
Here you can find an article that lists the 10 main differences between a coach and a psychologist. I recommend that you go through it if you have any doubts on whether your issue is relevant to coaching or psychotherapy.
  • What is mindset coaching?
"Mindset coaching is a structured practice where you work with a coach to learn ways to change your thinking, challenge your beliefs, build new cognitive skills, and create better outcomes in your personal or professional endeavours. Mindset coaching helps you develop positive and productive thinking. Mindset coaches can work with you to challenge beliefs that limit or restrict you from achieving your goals. Coaches provide guidance and exercises for developing a productive and positive mindset. And they help you get "unstuck" from old patterns and enjoy better life experiences." Source
  • What is the systemic approach about?
The systemic approach relies on a relational, complex and dynamic view of issues. It is a disruptive approach to problem-solving that short-circuits automatisms and leads to the emergence of long-term solutions for all parties involved. It is particularly relevant and efficient for team/corporate coaching. "Originally resulting from the work of the School of Palo Alto and developed by the Mental Research Institute (MRI) team in the late 60s, the systemic approach is the result of the convergence of several disciplines: anthropology, biology, the theory of information, cybernetics and the theory of systems, etc. (...) The strategic systemic approach or systemics consist in understanding how a problem remains in the present by considering not only the complexity of the environment but also the interactions between the individuals involved in the problem." Source.
  • How much does it cost?
It of course depends on the needs, if it is in person or not, etc. You should expect premium pricing because the experience is usually as short as it is efficient. The less you see me, the better I have done my job.
